Charcuterie Boards

"Charcuterie" is a classic French culinary term that refers to cured and cooked meats traditionally made with pork. These days, charcuterie boards have expanded to include a wide variety of snackable foods. Whether you're a seasoned gourmet or a curious foodie, you'll love sharing these delicious morsels with friends and family.

Our Tips & Tricks

  • To create the perfect charcuterie board, choose a variety of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments. This allows for a diverse range of flavors, textures, and colors.
  • Include dry-cured salami like soppressata and chorizo, cuts of pork such as prosciutto and coppa, and spreadable options like pâté and mousse.
  • For the best flavor, serve charcuterie and cheese at room temperature. Make sure to remove them from the refrigerator 1–2 hours before enjoying. Use dedicated serving utensils for items like spreadable cheeses and condiments to keep everything tidy.
  • Enhance your charcuterie board with palate cleansers such as fresh fruit, chutneys, and savory jams. Plan on 2–4 ounces of charcuterie per person, plus extra snacks if you're hosting a cocktail party!

Some of our favorite Stonewall Kitchen products include the Honey Trio Set, Hot Pepper Cranberry Jelly, Sea Salt Crackers, Organic Classic Fig Jam, and Tillen Farms pickled veggies. These additions will elevate your charcuterie experience with every bite.

Build Your Board

  1. Start by placing your largest items first. These include jarred foods like jams, pickles, honey, and mustards as well as assorted cheeses. Position them strategically around the charcuterie board to ensure balance and variety.
  2. Next, add your meats and crackers. Create appealing rows of folded meats like prosciutto, salami, and ham, and fan out the crackers for easy access. Arrange various meats and crackers on all sides of the board so guests can easily reach their favorites.
  3. Now, fill in the gaps with smaller items: fresh berries, assorted nuts, and chocolates. These elements add vibrant colors and textures to your charcuterie board. Use a mix of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries for visual appeal. Nuts like almonds, cashews, and walnuts provide a crunchy contrast while dark or milk chocolates add a sweet touch.
  4. Finally, include garnishes like fresh herbs, edible flowers, or sliced fruits such as apples or pears. These add an extra touch of elegance and flavor to your charcuterie board.

Bon appétit!
