For the waffles:
- Preheat an electric waffle maker. In a large bowl, whisk together the water and egg. Add the pancake & waffle mix, cinnamon and brown sugar and stir until smooth.
- Spray the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and ladle in the waffle batter. Cook according to waffle maker instructions until golden brown. Set aside and repeat with remaining batter.
For the apple topping:
- Melt the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the apples. Sauté the apples in the melted butter for about 3 minutes. Add the brown sugar and salt and continue to sauté for 2-3 additional minutes until apples are tender and well coated.
Assembly:
Divide the sautéed apples amongst the waffles, drizzle with Cinnamon Apple Syrup and top with whipped cream. Serve warm.
