Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday to celebrate. Mainly because I’m obsessed with making (and eating, if I’m being completely honest) the stuffing! What I love about Thanksgiving is the family traditions aspect. We always pile into my mom’s kitchen and make our designated dishes: my brother makes the deviled eggs, my husband making his signature celery, cream cheese and pimento olive dish, me with the stuffing, my dad with his side dish of roasted beets and bacon (while munching on anything in arms reach) and my mom slaying away with the main dish …. the turkey.
This year, not only are we heading to my parents but we’ll scoot over to my husband’s parents household for dessert AND we’ll be hosting a “Friendsgiving” the next day. I’m anticipating a long recovery from the food overload on the actual day so I’m all about making things simple and easy for the Friendsgiving. Funny enough, I work for a specialty food brand (wink, wink) that can help with that! With that said, below are some great suggestions on how to make your Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving or leftovers EXTRA delicious!
1. New England Cranberry Butter
Whip together butter and the New England Cranberry Relish for a delicious spread for crackers or bread!
2. Garlic & Onion Mashed Potatoes
Level up your mashed potatoes by mixing the Roasted Garlic Onion Jam during the mashing step. This adds a delicious hint of roasted garlic and balsamic vinegar to your dish.
3. Maple-Glazed Squash
Glaze your sweet potatoes or butternut squash with the Organic Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup before roasting for a sweet, caramel-like flavor.
4. Apple Cranberry Stuffing
Simply add your desired amount of the Apple Cranberry Chutney to your homemade stuffing recipe for the perfect balance of sweet and savory!
5. Post-Turkey Day Sandwich
Mix the Cranberry Horseradish Sauce with mayonnaise and spread that on your post-turkey day sandwich because let’s be real, we all have so much leftovers!
